Our aim in developing this program is to create a safe and supportive community where women (or those identifying as women) can support each other to restore their emotional sturdiness, feel good about their strengths and be able to effectively communicate them, and enjoy going to work each day.
Another important reason for creating this program has become a very personal mission for us: mistreatment or bullying in the workplace. A lot of media attention has focused on online and in-person bullying affecting younger, school-aged children. Similarly, much needed attention is being paid to rampant sexual harassment in the workplace that has roots going back as far as the 1950’s. These are all toxic behaviors that must be addressed. However, we strongly believe that not enough focus is being placed on what may be the similarly damaging effects of bullying, mistreatment, and discrimination in the workplace today. In a recent survey, almost half of the US workforce reported being the target of mistreatment, bullying or discrimination. These numbers are alarming and often lead to burnout, anxiety, depression, or other negative health issues. Work from Home (WFH) has only exasperated this condition.
Research has also shown that on the whole women are subjected to a hostile work environment more than men. In our private practices we have coached countless clients ‒ primarily women ‒ to rise above the negativity of the demeaning, belittling, and destructive power of bullies, drawing from our background in coaching, psychology, HR leadership, career management and personal experience.
After talking about the struggles our clients were facing, we decided that we needed to create a program that would easily be accessible to many more women. We wanted to offer a safe environment of support, compassion, and actionable solutions. By going through our program, you will learn to better manage your current situation while at the same time strengthening your emotional resilience. This will lead to an improved sense of self and an increase in self-confidence. Lastly, we will coach you through the process of objectively evaluating your current workplace situation to determine options that would work best for you.

Chelsea, an Account Executive, was being bullied by her much younger boss who appeared threatened by her. He continually called her out in meetings and openly criticized her work. When Chelsea asked for explanations, ways she could improve or made suggestions he would be dismissive, snarky, or sharp. She began to doubt herself, couldn’t sleep, developed a stress-induced foggy brain, which led to her making errors and missing a deadline.
Initially, Chelsea reached out to us to work on her time management and organization skills. While working with us, Chelsea’s perspective shifted as she realized she was the target of bullying. She regained her confidence and through coaching learned how to effectively neutralize some of the bully’s attacks.
After careful deliberation, Chelsea eventually left the company and secured a Senior VP leadership position. With the insight she had gained with us, she quickly recognized the bullying behaviors of a member of her team which was threatening the trust and effectiveness of her entire team. Again, she called us to work through this similar but different bullying situation. Together we developed effective strategies to turn the bully into a contributor and thereby strengthen the team.
